Arriving in Hobart you are greeted by Mt Wellington rising on the western horizon, with the River Derwent in front. Mount Wellington rises to 1,271 metres and is frequently covered by snow, sometimes even in summer. It is a popular place for hiking enthusiasts. Near the top is an enclosed look out which provides spectacular views of the city below.

If you have your own car, it is only a 20 minute drive from Salamanca Place and the Docks. Head up Davey Street from Downtown and follow the signs.
